    You're right, I made a typo. Yes it was a 3 ft. fiberglass antenna. :confused5:

    I switched to a wilson 2000 and an 18 foot mini 8 coax, the wilson doesn't bend back as much as the k-40 does at 60 mph and i could get a lower swr with it, the external meter reads 1.1, 1.1, and 1.2 on 1, 20, and 40 in that order the built in meter shows 1.3, 1.4, and 1.5 in the same order.
    i'm considering letting a cb shop off i-65 fine tune the radio for me, the owner said he wouldn't do anything to it that would make it illegal just tune it, he mentioned a mike gain issue those radios have but i don't know how to test for that. Any other quirks about the dx 959 i should check for?
