I have this radio in my Cascadia. I have it mounted in the stock location on the cab, drivers side, full condo roof. Home made mount but in the stock location. I can't run full power because it plays hell on my electronics (gauges swing, check engine light comes on, eng brake is inop, etc) I usually run it about 1/3 power and run my mic gain so it sits parallel to the bottom of the radio. I seem to have just the opposite problem of yours, I receive EVERYTHING including when my fridge turns on, my gps unit, my satellite radio power and anything electronic plugged in. I have to turn my rf gain way down just to clear the static so I can run my squelch low enough that I can receive a barefoot radio 1/4 mile away but I can still hold a conversation from 8 to 10 miles away. I would say send it to custom cb radio in Terre Haute, IN. he did a tune on mine when I bought it and HOLY CRAP! Even at 1/3 power it deadkeys at 100 watts and swings past 200 when talking (for $25 bucks). The manual says it has self adjusting swr built in to the radio. I hooked up my cobra with an external swr meter, set the ant. to that and reinstalled the dx 98vhp. If I sit in an open lot with the doors closed and any/all electronic devices off, the motor off, I can get as low as 1:2 to 1. moving I can get as low as 1:4 to one but usually around 1:5/1:6 to one according to the built in meter. Only prob I've had with the radio is the roger beep would stay on while the switch was off. It would even happen when checking swr's. Other than that no real problems.
