Picked this up at a local yard sale for $5 and would like to know if anyone can recommend a good shop, most likely will have to mail it, that can work this over as it could use some new knobs, face plate and power display. It works as is, but just needs someone more knowledgeable than myself to go thru the guts and make sure everything is on the up and up as well as the cosmetic fixes.

I have my truck in shop so can't test it there atm, but just in my pickup with a K40 and a old RK56 it's sounds clear and loud enough. Just looks ugly.

    Thanks.

I’d try Bells CB. Give a call.

The “problem” with a yard sale Radio is that the work to both make it reliable and look good is far more than the price of new. It’s a headache for the shop, in other words.

Keep it as spare and get a new radio with warranty.

$125 will buy a brand-new UNIDEN 980 AM/SSB radio that forty years ago would have been close to $1,000 in today’s money for the same performance.

Spend another $75 for an RM ITALY KL203 baby amp and Velcro it to radio top. Now your at 70W+ and it’ll run off big truck 15A circuit.

    $200 to kick ### & take names.

Google Mikes radio repair or DTB Radio.
Cheaper to buy a new radio though.

This is the only cheap solution for that radio.

I used to know a guy that had boxes of spare parts and he'd work on it for two days straight and only charge you $20 for his time. Unfortunately he's no longer with us

I’ve got a friend that could probably fix it up, just depends on if it’s worth your time and his. You can buy a replacement faceplate and knobs for it online.
