Ok, I am a Galaxy guy. I have a Classic Cobra 29 & I like it but, I am really a Galaxy guy. I've previously had two 33's & a 44. Now I am wanting to put some money back into a good radio, so I am wanting the DX98VHP that comes packaged with 200 watts from the factory.
Yes I know I'll have to have it converted to CB mode. Nothing I aint done before & been happy with.
A few years ago, I got some advice here on whether its better to turn up a CB or add a kicker. I am satisfied that its better to buy external than turning one up.
The scenario is this. I am about to get a company 2021 Volvo (red) & I want to get this DX98 to go in it.
First, should I make this investment? For my scenario, is the DX98 a good route for me to go?
What antenna setup should get for this radio &,
What size power/ground wires should I get & how should I route them in this truck?
Thanks for any relevant advice.

Surprised there's no response yet. I'd use 10 gauge wiring for that 200W powerhouse.

I personally have a Galaxy DX98VHP that I am running in my 2021 Volvo. On the dash there’s an area that dips down and has a rubber mat to stop things from sliding around. If you pull that piece of dash trim up, directly underneath there is where the fuse panel is and where the power straight from the battery runs up to. I mounted my DX98VHP right there and used 8 gauge leads for the power and ground, using the included 50amp inline fuse that was included with the radio. I’m using the new Stryker SR-A10 antenna and love this setup!
Grumppy Thanks this. -
