No please, one more thing, since you are a licensed ham. Have always wondered but always forget to ask. If you have a ticket and a Xcvr type accepted for ham radio. Let's say a Yaesu FT-101EX. I assume it is FCC approved (type accepted). Can you legally put the 11 meter xtals in and dial your watts down to 4 or less and operate on CB? Or, does your equipment need to be specifically type accepted for 11 meters. Years ago the Yaesu was the rig of choice here for CB ops making the crossover to ham. They added the the 11 meter xtals, and had a single radio for everything. Though I am sure they "forgot" to turn their watts down. Funny I have thought about this from time to time but never remembered to ask someone that might know.

As to your question. Since a HAM is Not licensed to operate on the 11 meter band using a non type accepted radio. Many of the Yaesu FT-101(s) came with 11 meter band as standard equipment, but it was illegal to operate it on the 11 meter band. I have a Hallicrafters HT- 44 that will transmit 0n the 11 meter band or any other frequency between 3 mhz and 30 mhz. However, I can not use it on any frequency I'm not license for.

Wonder how many thousands of ham radios that can operate on 11 meters are currently operating on 11 meters....Especially on sideband?????

By the way, I am not counting those CB type ham radios which are made to be modified for cb, those are just glorified CBs. -

Do you consider RCI 29xx series radios in the 10 meter but really a glorified CB category? -
CB'ers are Rangers intended market for these radios. -
