What exactly is " tuned a bit " ? , who did what to it, usually all that is required is conversion to 11 meter and maybe turn up modulation and set high and low carrier.bored silly Thanks this.

If it is relatively unmolested that is a good price for that radio.

According to Ray from Galaxy, all of them use a slightly higher gain lower noise transistor in the front end as opposed to a comparable cobra 148.Neverready Thanks this.

The 959b has the schottky detector diodes from the factory.

That kind of sounds like a bad thing. I definitely don't think it would help the dynamic range of the AGC circuit. Front end overload while in the proximity of a strong signal would probably be a huge problem
