Go read FCC rules ... I'll bet he did ....

Section 95.603(c) of the Rules requires that ``[e]ach
CB transmitter (a transmitter that operates or is intended to
operate at a station authorized in the CB) must be
    certificated.''

Section 95.655(a) of the Rules states that
``[n]o transmitter will be certificated for use in the CB service
if it is equipped with a frequency capability not [authorized for
CB in Part 95 of the Rules].'' This section also states that
``([CB t]ransmitters with frequency capability for the Amateur
Radio Services ... will not be certificated.)'' Additionally,
Section 95.655(c) of the Rules prohibits any internal or external
add-on device that functions to extend the transmitting frequency
capability of a CB transmitter beyond its original capability.

SO ....the use of NON CERTIFIED CB RADIO is not in FCC rulles
if it was it would be in this section just some feld office guy trying to discribe a 10 meter radio being USED as a CB set ....

It has really come down to semantics. These "export" radios are commonly referred to as CB radios by millions. Even if they are not technically "CB radios". And the masses are not going to change their terminology to suit you, the FCC, or anybody else. Not only has the horse got out of the barn, on this one, he is so far over the hill he ain't ever coming back!!! Therefore, the term "CB" when referring to these radios is now become a common and accepted name for them.......even the FCC uses it!!!!!:yes2557:

I rest my case! The public (my fellow truck drivin' friends) can be the judge....:biggrin_2558:

Yes he did. And he is still in business under H&Y, and Copper Electronics. And I don't understand why someone can look at what the FCC calls 10 meter radios in writing. And still say it isn't so. Sorry Bruce but you are wrong! Mike and others are correct Export radios are still CB radios. Just ask a Court of Law to read what the FCC statement means?

I see it says non-certified Citizens Band transceivers. The rules say a unit must be a certified Citizens Band transceivers to be legal. Now you say they are legal?
