Continuous is what the inverter would put out in steady operation

Peak is what the inverter will put out for a very small time to account for the start up of certain equipment.

I have a small color tv set up in my truck using a 300 watt inverter along with an xbox and a nintendo 64. I find it very stress relieving to be able to blow the ^&*% out of something at the end of a bad day......when I actually have the time.

Why choose a console when there is so much more you can do with a decent notebook? All the games I play have fixes and upgrades that you can't do a lot with if your game system is a console. Plus all the mods you can d/load really give you a TON more bang for the playtime buck. I know some older laptops (and desktops) don't handle newer games well (if at all) but still, is there any other advantage? Sorry to ask but I think I'm missing something. :)

ps.. If you can still find Morrowind GOTY, buy it. It's probably in the discontinued bin if you can find it, but for the money and d/loadable mods- it's hard to beat.

Is your cobra 400 watt inverter hard wired or is that a 12v plug in? Thanks!

it's a 12 volt plug in, however recently it took a dump, must have overloaded it, so I will have to find another option

There was a lot of useful information here. I just bought a300 watt inverter for my ps3 & a seperate one for my tv & I just spent the last 15 mins digging the fuse out of the ac plug, cause it got so hot. But what I don't understand is that I had a 400 watt made by whisper that I bought 8 yrs ago & it would run the tv & the ps3 by itself?
Do I need a bigger inverter, like a 750 or could I hook directly & it be fine?

If you are gonna make a career out of trucking and have all the amenities, a 2500 watt inverter is the way to go. I've seen drivers with 42" TV's in their truck.

But back to the gaming consoles, which is the best to buy? I use to play alot in the 90's and been thinking about buying another one now that I'm home. I use to play Madden football, soccer, Doom and Final Fantasy type games.
