In your testing have you notice that if you don't have a trailer listed(straight truck) it will not allow you to extract hours of service or trip info ?
also do you know of a website to ask question about the 560 ? I've noticed some strange issues

I've been using a Garmin Nuvi (car unit) for work. My old job had me doing mostly home delivery in residential zones of Southwest Michigan and the car unit was fine for that. But I changed jobs a few months ago and I'm running over a larger area now which gets me into Detroit and Chicago now and then. I was still using the car unit but I was running to more and more situations where a truck specific unit would have been better. And since it was getting to be time to update the database in the Nuvi, I decided to spend the cash on a Dezl 560LMT.
I've had it for a week or so now and so far, I'm undecided about it. Overall, I like it. Its really nice having a unit that knows where most of the restricted roads are. Last week I had to deliver to a couple of places that can only be reached via restricted roads and the warnings were nice.
But I've already found two pretty serious flaws in the software. The first flaw is that there are addresses in the database which are not 'centered' on the driveway entrance. What I mean by that is lets say you tell the GPS to take you to 1267 main street. Most units will navigate you to the point on main street where it believes 1267 to be. But that's not how the 560 seems to work.
With 560 when you tell it to take you to 1267 main street, it seems as though it looks at the entire property of 1267 Main street, finds the center of it, and then navigates you to point where a public road comes closest to that center of the property point which might happen to be on main street or it might not. That is a very serious flaw. What's most disturbing is that I've used Garmin car units for years and none of them did this. IOW garmin knows how to get this right and still they screwed it up.
The second serious flaw I've found is somewhat related to the first. This flaw is that the unit does not seem to understand that interstate highways do not have property driveways on them.
I'll describe the scenario where I first discovered these flaws to better illustrate what I'm talking about.
Imagine a stretch of interstate which has a local road that runs parallel to it. There is a business on that local road and that business' property backs up the interstate. IOW, the business sits between the local road and the interstate. If try to navigate to the address of that business which is on that local road, the 560 will route you to the interstate lane that runs behind the business' property. It will then tell you to 'turn right and navigate off-road to desination'. It won't even attempt to put you on the local road which is the address you told it to take you to in the first place.
I'm sure this is an issue which is unique to certain addresses in the database. The question is, how many addresses are affected. If its just that one, then no big deal. But if its even just 1% of all addresses, that is way too many IMO for a unit that costs as much as this one. Especially when I can buy dozens of $100 units which don't have these flaws.
I'm going to call Garmin about this issue. But I'm not expecting much in the way of an immediate fix. -
Garmin has a new software update for the 560 models available.
Also a new map update is available.
This system software update seems to have fixed a few problems.
If you have just purchased the unit and do not have the life time maps, If it is less than 90 days since the first satellite fix, you can update the maps for free.Dieselboss Thanks this. -
You are correct, their are many errors with this unit and its no where close to being worth what they want.
the maps are terrible and it does not do what it should when routing trucks if a road has a prohibition like say no 102" it makes the road closed to all trucks, Garmin needs to address the problem or issue refunds if you ask me. -
does this new update fix ALL the problems which are too numerous to even write ? and did this last update occur since friday October 8th because I'm using the maps from then and they are terrible!!! I wouldn't waste any $ on purchasing this product if I was buying one I lost my reciept and I'm stuck with this garbage.

I just came from Garmin's site the last update is from June

I'm a former IT grunt. Getting the latest updates for the system firmware and the maps was very first thing I did with the unit when I took it out of the box.

Regarding the newer Garmins. I've been using Garmin in cars and for storm chasing but I was wondering if the "dezl" version had a feature I'm looking for ...
I want to go to a city or town "center". I don't have an address, I simply want to enter the city and select "town center" or something similar and have it go from there. I had a truck GPS that did this years ago but don't remember what it was but do remember it sucked otherwise (might have been PC Miler)
