I’ve seen boards in automated machinery get hot and start doing squirrelly things outside of the programmed routine. But it sounds like you said, there is software corruption. I always update via usb cable with a solid internet connection I trust their WiFi radio update capability exactly zero which is why I avoided the 780.

I update using the garmin express software I’ve been using for years on a MacBook Pro and never had any issues with 3 different garmins

They use here maps. I run an app that uses the same maps. I believe Rand uses here as well. The app I use just got latest here truck maps q1 March 2018. I get jacked uP routing too. Frank road in Columbus we have a terminal. The #### here maps won’t take me past i270 with no hazmat on. It says 71 past 270 has a truck restriction. I’ve have few other issues in Atlanta and north east so I just been using google maps now.

Garmin express is shut down right now. That's how bad it is.

Does Garmin so I'll want you to detour away from I-80 in NE for some stupid weight restriction .. 20k?

How many months did they let that happen?

Genius maps for iOS but it’s for android too... it has here maps for 20 bucks and you can add truck maps for I think 1 time 40$.

Also had igo nav it’s from way back when it’s both iOS and android they have truck nav as well, old trucker tablet 1 & 2 both ran igo .... it just updated 2018 maps. Same issues on both. Tried routing side by side. Massive issues in the here maps....

Smart truck route 2 android uses its own truck routing over google maps. Been running it for 4 weeks and it puts here to shame with truck routes. Support is top notch to fix issues immediately

Yep. Same thing on the Blue Grass Parkway. I kept getting diverted to Louisville to get to Lexington. 20 ton warning. I told them that's for box trucks.

I had a new one 5 years ago that did that. Ok, no big deal, they will fix it.

Waited through a few updates and when the next map update came.... It still wasn't fixed. That was the end of Garmin for me. They don't care, neither will I.

I have called them a few times, and they claim the next map update to fix it. I said don't you understand how many truck drivers are out there that depend on their device to work.
