You Garner people do need to post more. It's good to see posts and hear about the smaller companies too. BTW GDT nice picture of you and your truck on the website. How's the 4/4 going for you?

I love it! Sometimes I almost feel guilty being home so much! But it is nice being able to help out at home more and get stuff done! Mileage has been pretty good too. I can see where it is not for everyone though. I live rather modestly so an occasional smaller check doesn't set us back at all. We are looking to buy a new house at the end of summer and should be able to do that, so it can't be too bad, right? LOL! The biggest problem has been the weather affecting my miles lately, but that is hitting everyone. Just gotta keep moving... slow and steady!

4/4 drivers I talk to say it's horrible, they NEVER get "4on 4off"...

I am not sure which drivers you are talking to, but my
time on and off has been pretty reliable. I do try to remind dispatch of which day is my last day out. They can't remember everything and this is somewhat new to them too. As far as posting more often, sorry! I am content and so it is difficult to find things to post about other than your typical trucking frustrations such as 4 wheelers, bad weather, bad road conditions, and the other things we all whine about! LOL! I have worked for the biggest of companies, a very small company and a union company in the past. Garner is a good company who truly cares for their drivers. Sure the pay could be better, but it is same story in the entire industry. I make a living. The difference here is that I have the time to enjoy my life and the support I need from Garner to do a good job.

    Lonesome Thanks this.

Garner is a good company to drive for, I enjoy it, and the places they go. and I could go on and on about 4-wheelers alone lol

They could be a very decent company to work for if it wasn't for two knuckleheads that are in the dispatching office. One truly needs to work on common sense and people skills and the other stop taking care of his choosen few and putting it to others that might actually question his lack of knowledge at times, in a professional way.
A lot of times scheduling was terrible and made no sense. Nothing like getting sent to somewhere for a pickup a day to early (happened 3 times) or sit for hours after making a delivery waiting for them to find somewhere to send you.
They did have one really good dispatcher there that work the night shift. Cant remember his name now but he was a peoples person whom just got it.

I haven't had many problems with dispatch in the past, but I have seen alot worse since i started driving. The first 4 years I drove, I never met a dispatcher face to face. I had to give my driver number or truck number every time I called in! I hated that, they had no clue who I was. It is so different here, if I am sick or my husband at home is sick, the owner of the company actually calls me to see if I need anything! Who else does that? Not many that I ever heard of. It is still a trucking company and everyone is in it to make money, but it is nice that they know me and my family as well!
