    You would run 4 then the other driver runs 4. That makes 8 days total, so the following week would be set back a day. If you follow it on a calender, it makes a lot more sense. It works out pretty well for me. If you specifically want weekends off, you could do the regular running. Those guys are off on the weekends.

    what is the avg. miles of otr drivers ??? i drove 4 them in 2004 , was thinking of going back. gettin tired of the mega co. im with now !! :biggrin_255:

    Not sure what the average is now. Scott would be able to give you the numbers exactly! I usually did around 2400 average when I was on the 5-6 day schedule. More or less...

    Just had garner send me a letter about wanting to set up an interview. What all does the road test consist of? Being fresh outta school don't wanna screw up at the first try! Also does garner care about tattoos? Seems like a decent place to work

    Mike, Sorry I missed your post. It has been a crazy summer so far! You will do a pretrip, hook to a trailer, back into a dock, take a drive (2 lane and interstate), Back the trailer in and drop it again. They are not looking for perfection, but are you safe and have the basic ability. As far as tattoo's, Several of our drivers have them. It would depend on the extent of them I guess. Are they the "I don't ever want to be employed again in my lifetime..." tattoo's? LOL! Just kidding! Garner does not allow drivers to walk around in flip-flops and sweat pants, so that should tell you about them. Just make sure you are neat and clean! Good luck!

    I'm in akron area. Looking at Garner. I'm starting school on Monday. Emailed Scott with some questions . Haven't heard from him. Seems like recruiters don't answer email.
    Is it a waste of time to submit applications now? Before I have even started school.

    I got hired there right out of school. Applied during my first week and garner sent me a letter my last week of school. In my last week with my trainer right now and get my truck monday. Id say call garner and see if you can talk to him about it. So far they've been a fantastic company. I love the fact that your actually a person to them

    Thanks for the reply. I think I'll call this week. Oh , how long was the training? Is your trainer good? I'm going to apply at garner, transport America. And probably hogan. I like what hogan told me except its forever to get benefits and costly.

    The training last for a 3 week minimum. My trainers awesome, really good dude. Nothing like the horror stories you read on here
