Fracing has been in commercial use since the late '40s. There has been large scale fracing done on a world-wide basis since the late '60s.
What are you supposing is the fracing "pollution problem?"

Arguing about this is like arguing with a religious zealot - they have faith that they are right and will never question that there might be a valid opposing views/facts. Do you realize that doing something for 60 years is nothing when talking about buildup of chemicals or problems in the environment? How long have humans been mining? Literally hundreds of years. Are there problems? Yes. Did we always know about them? No. So why would the oil industry be different? Because you have faith it isn't? I have encountered many people, especially those who have never been out of their county or on a plane and have no idea what the rest of the world is like (mostly in TX, the south in general), who will baselessly look over every single opinion that isn't theirs, every scientific study they don't agree with (or really understand, because science), and every indication that something isn't safe/right just because it fits with their personal narrative of who they are and what they do. Just because you want the world to be one way doesn't mean it is. The reason people will defend the industry without seeing any problems is because they follow political dogma like a religion, waiting for someone to tell them they are special and defending the motherland by drillin' and killin'. So have fun mudding and hunting until the ground you walk on is toxic. You won't understand me until then.
