Gasoline prices fall 50 to 60 cents a gallon, yet diesel prices barely budge?

I am sure everyone has noticed gasoline prices fall to the $2.60 to $2.70 per gallon range. But what has the diesel price done? At the mega truck stops I have seen, diesel prices are still in the $3.70 range. That is a total crock, man. The whole trucking industry needs the price break just like the four wheelers. But of course, trucking gets screwed over again. People cannot keep their paws out of truck drivers pockets.

Major auto truck stop rosenhayn, nj off of 55 exit 32 .. $3.13 last time and that was a few weeks ago ... In comparison, the ta on 295x18 was about .50 higher, this is always the case.

more demand WORLD WIDE for diesel, than gasoline... supply and demand set prices...

and since the government won't let companies export crude, they export the refined items needed in other countries, mainly Europe.

Yes I know how you feel driver but I don't think you've got it yet. The pump price may well say $3.70 but I can assure you I'm paying a heck lower price at that same TS. FYI I just paid $3.15 in LA. Granted it wasn't a mega TS but if I were to fuel up at one of those places I won't be too far away from that nett price. Sounds to me that you need to get a good fuel card.

Gas hasn't fallen here that I can tell.Got 3 gallons yesterday because Ray said fill my car up so who am I to argue since he paid for it.But it was almost$11.00 for 3 gallons. I do agree with the op though, fuel prices are ridiculous. What is it like $500.00 a day you pay to fill it up?

Newp. "The market", as in "the commodities futures market" sets the prices.

Vast fortunes are being made, by computer programs that buy and sell futures according to split-second price fluctuations. You have $100M in the market, the futures price increases 1 cent, you sell, you just made $1M, minus the lawyer fees to avoid paying 1 cent of taxes on it.
