Gay Friendly Trainer

Here's the dilly kid. There are A LOT of small minded Neanderthals on the road. Couple their political ideology with some weird religious garbage they feel they need to shove down others throats and then top that off with a few sprinkles of the fear of the unknown. This is trucking, where some think that women don't belong behind the wheel and blacks are bad too. Luckily this segment of the trucking population is dying off, there are some stragglers here and there, and a lot of dumb people that wouldn't be dumb if they'd open their eyes to the world that surrounds them. Now that I've said that, and pissed many off I'm sure, don't flaunt it. Don't make it gay all the time and that's all you'll talk about. I'm a pretty liberal dude but I know I wouldn't want to hear it constantly, especially because the thought of two guys turns my stomach, but hey, I wasn't born that way, and most guys don't admit to having a think for chubby chicks, and I'm out in the open with that. I know. Not the same. Keep your head up and avoid the topic. No use in getting worked up over someone's bigotry.

But i understand your point, and I agree- just suck it up (its only for 6 weeks),learn, and move on. Plus truth be told, you need a pretty tough skin to be in this field anyway... so this is a good start.

 

Folks, im not trying to be controversial in here but this Gay issue is infiltrating boy scouts, super bowl sunday, elementary school books,politics, today we live in a society that the politicians have created a divide and conquer style atmosphere! we have the predator man that everybody hates, the single victim woman, the exploited gays, the black racism victims, the exploited illigals, the southern rebel militias bible thumpers etc... Folks, this gay issue is something that the media is throwing at us and the american people dont want to hear it! period, the funny stuff is that most of these victim gays think that they deserve special treatment. Just the other day, a pastor said that when he marched in the civil rights era, he was never there while being spit, kicked, shot, arrested, he was not there protesting for gays rights! hell, the grandparents of alot of these gays today were probably the ones doing the horrible things to MLK and the blacks in the 1950s and today these gays want more rights than the blacks where now the blacks have to apologize if they say something negative about gays? Folks, all im saying that this is the best trucking forum in the world! We want to help each other out and if we start getting victim groups in here today, it will bring us apart. Dont bring your sexual orientation or your political agenda! you want to be a trucker, we will help you with ideas! Theres a reason it has so much responses in only a couple of hours because America is sick and tired of this conversation. Please not here.

I agree completely. My main point and question is why does his sexuality have to be brought up. In my opinion if it becomes an issue it's because the OP is making it an issue.

 

Agreed, but it could also be because some of us in here that dont share the O/P's personal choices saw the "BS storm" that was coming, and wanted to still try and help the dude out anyway.

Hey joseph1135 we already know you are very liberal. Now to answer your question, i think we agree on this one? this is not a place for victim groups! That's all im saying. Truckers Report offers free information to newbie truckers where in the past, all these information would cost money. So please, no victim groups in here. Im out!

 

what if he DOESNT bring it up, (like i said before if it was gay coming in here asking that question- i would have asked it differently) and then he comes on here and says what a horrible time he had with a trainer, we find out he's gay, and one of us post up something to the following:

"you dummy, you should have came on here first and asked us, we would have told you to send "so and so" a PM- he's a great trainer etc etc etc"

My point is: lets be honest for a second, he IS a minority of sorts on this board,and in this profession- since he is, i think hes trying to do his homework and try and avoid any unnecessary BS and drama. Because truth be told theres alot of people that downright HATE gay folks, and there's no room in a TRUCK for hate

 

I cant speak for anyone else in here, but I know i have received VALUABLE INFO from individuals in here!!! that i'd never be able to show my true appreciation for.
