I like most of your posts, but I'm calling ######## here. Most heterosexuals have absolutely no qualms talking to/about their current & former lovers in front of other people (& especially when sharing such a confined space with someone for so long). Everyone is saying he'll be ok as long as he doesn't 'flaunt it' is basically saying he is less than. #### that.

Why is your sexual preferences being brought up anyway unless you are looking for a partner? I don't go around looking for any special type of student with a paticular sexual preference. In my truck your sexual preferences are your business and need to stay that way. Driver training is meant to be just that. Driver training. Too many well intended innocent trainer are being accused of sexual harassment just because of the student not passing. This is not limited to gay accusations, but coming from both male and female students. I believe the don't ask don't tell policy should be in place.

No don't make a scene about it. Dont expect special treatment. Act like your okay with who you are. What does it matter what anybody else thinks? Dont throw your sexual orientation in the trainers face. no reason for the trainer to even know unless you have an agenda. Get in the truck and do your job! Don't attempt to make the trainer uncomfortable by pushing a political agenda. Obviously if he is that concerned he isn't comfortable in his own skin. Be respectful of the other person too. Just get in the truck and do your job, if you two clash get another trainer. Don't expect a problem. I'm over weight do you think I give a #### what somebody else thinks of me being overweight? No!

I have nothing at all against gays.I get along with them like straight ppl.But if I was a trainer and trained a lesbian,I would feel very uncomfortable.I have had lesbos come on to me and we were just friends. But they wanted to go further. So needless to say we are no longer friends.

In case many of you are not aware of it, there are plenty of people still out there that are downright hostile to ANYONE that doesn't fit their image of "normal".

This member is expressing a genuine concern about being matched up with a trainer that has less than stellar people skills.

It's no different that a female student wishing to be paired up with a trainer that is not sexist.

I hope you find someone cool bryanp78. I straight and my hateful trainer kept implying that I was gay for the simple fact I wouldn't talk about girls like a sleaze bag. I mean what would it have mattered if I was gay anyway?!! He was a real jerk, a sad old man. A lot of people can't stand their trainer. I couldn't. I could've asked the company to get a new one but I just wanted to get the training period over with. Most of all companies I know of will let you switch trainers. Talk to the somebody at the company if you have problems. Don't put up with it any discrimination. If the trainer says something homophobic tell them it bothers you in whatever way you think is best. If that doesn't work then switch.

I don't flaunt anything. I am who I am, I not some over the top girly boy but people know im gay after they meet me because it bit something I suppress. I want to be able to talk about my partner and life experience asI'm sure people take about personal lives while in training.
