You might try mounting a Go Pro camera or similar from the top bunk, aimed toward your feet. Would be good for making instructional videos.

Just use KISS when learning. STexan gave you some good advice also. I've been shifting for a few decades and i do not use left foot on the brake or have my feet jumping all over the place . I am a lazy driver and try not to use my left foot if i do not have to. The main thing is to get really smooth and relax.

That Jamaican guy's an idiot showing off. One day he'll miss a gear and end up in the weeds.

Slowing down fast and shifting I usually use the brakes, get the RPM's down to about 1100, drop to the next gear, back on the brakes and repeat. I've only driven 18 speeds and generally I don't waste time splitting downshifts. Just move the stick. If I'm coming to a stop I'll get it down to 3rd or 4th direct and brake to a stop, pushing the clutch in as the RPM's hit about 800. If I'm in a situation where traffic is stop and go I'll just get it down to a gear that I can keep up with traffic at while running up a bit higher in the RPM range. That way I can back off the throttle if I need to without having to drop another gear.

    roadmap65 Thanks this.
