I'm looking at buying a brand new log picker truck because the old new 2005 just blew the cummins isx at 42000 hrs.
I know in Ontario it's 105 km/h governed
I was wondering with 22.5 tires how slow of a gear ratio you'd need to be doing 1800-2000 rpms at 105 in 8H.
Ratios have to be slow anyway because we are regularly grossing 5-10% over 63500kg running northern Ontario.
with 4:10s you can't get 8H over 1500 rpm before getting governed and we like running 1800 rpms ish at 105.

So maybe you need 4.33 axle gear I think.

Eaton Fuller road speed calculator. Put in your numbers.

So it turns out...with 22.5 tires just above 1800 rpm at 105 km/h, I need 4.56 gears...

That's odd. But I use mph.

It goes 65.1 mph AT 1800 which is 104._____ kph
