Had new stats & seals put in more than once. all the sensors & dash gauge. cac checked. always worked fine until one day. I do not let it overheat. I keep it at 190 I have not let it get over 210 the last summer I ran the fan 40 % of the time just to keep in normal op range. I have no a/c if I idle even at 65 degrees out the water temp will slowly climb higher & higher. sometimes it takes 40 min for the temp to rise, other times 15 min. even after inframe not a bit difference. also had water pump put on all new water hoses'. all any shop does is throw parts at the truck. especially a hard diognose like this. also new fan clutch too. everything but rad.
Gearing down on hills 2 keep temp down

Yep definitely something not working right and it sounds like you have checked most everything, tough one, sounds like maybe a good diagnosis at quality radiator shop is in order. The overheating while idling isn't a good sign, all diesels I know of cool off at idle and is the reason they must be high idled to get any heat.

not really, with the truck just sitting there. and the fan is turned off. they have to heat up.
i had no problem with heat at minus 20 in montana this past winter. and i don't think the fan ever came on either. cuz when i work up 8 hours later, the gauge still read 190. the fan kicks on at 210. and if i woulda left it on that night. the gauge woulda said 175. -
Any suggestions on the best way to flush out the radiator? Also any good radiator shops in theDallas area?
