People tend to gravitate towards brand name parts and tires and brand name shops, getting their repairs done at big truck stops and dealerships. That is a sure way to get ripped off. Shop around, do you home work, find several small shops in different cities that you drive to often, negotiate affordable labor rates and stick with them. Small shops will reward your loayalty with fast/quality work and low prices. This is what I do with my fleet. I cut repair labor cost in half, tire cost lowered by 30 percent.
You dam right big guys fix prices, and why wouldnt they if they get 80% of the market. Dont be part of the herd, be smarter.
