    All good advice,
I would try the 10 amp fuse first.

    What model is the radio?

I'd personally unload it on someone and buy a radio from a good, nonhack CB shop.

It's back in the box. I'll have to look when I get home tonight. I can say though that it's a newer one with the blue led's and the dual finals if that helps.

All of the general lee radios were dual final radios. With it being a blue led radio it would be as old as an 06 to current day model. Blue leds came out in 06/07 if you are interested in getting rid of it let me know.

General Lee/Connex came out with the HP40. It hit the shelves not too long ago. Best I can remember all the General Lee radios do about 40 watts. Get it put on a meter and see how much it's exactly doing. If its 60 watts or so, that's your prob. First off, it's stretched to its limit. 2nd, get a heavier duty power cord. Don't get the Radio Shack trash. Go to a CB Shop and tell them you want a power cord big enough to run a 50 watt radio. If it keeps blowing a fuse, get it checked out by a NONhack CB Shop!

His radio was done by a notorious cb hack.. id bet good money that the.radio is cranked wide open with the mod limiter clipped or the pot cranked to the max.

I know the HP-40 can be cranked to swing near 100 watts. If that is the model then a really heavy power cord and a larger rated fuse would be a must.
Also a good tech can straighten out the supercrack pack!...
Some of the newer model Generals are dual final radios.

The HP40W has 4 finals and can do over 100 watts,
That would take a heavy power feed and about a 25 amp fuse.
