The only way I can think of then would be to hook the flex pipe up every time you use it. It has to exhaust way up in the air to prevent killing you or your neighbors with CO.

A couple of potential problems with an exhaust longer than the OEM recommends are increased backpressure and heat. The back pressure can cause inefficient combustion, which creates more noxious gases. Excess heat can cause premature engine failure or other problems around the exhaust.
If using flex pipe, make sure it is designed for exhaust so it won't leak and can handle the heat.Rideandrepair and spindrift Thank this. -
That stainless Espar exhaust pipe is some tough stuff too.Rideandrepair, Roberts450 and not4hire Thank this. -
For your own sake and the sake of everyone around you that exhaust needs to be up high and shoot out similar to the truck exhaust.

Thank you for all the responses.
Since the exhaust on the Freightliner is tied right into the cab that it moves with the cab itself and because my stacks are right behind my doors I can't tap into the exhaust.
But after reading all the replies I think I have a better idea.
I think if I just make a stand right next to the generator on the catwalk I'll run it right up there and that'll be the end of it. Everything will stay rigid and there will be no flex and that may just work better.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
I picked up the new Honda generator yesterday and gave it an overnight test at home. It's quite a bit louder than the Predator but it was dark and I didn't see it had an Eco throttle switch. I imagine it'll be quieter when it's not running full tilt.
Even running wide open, the fuel lasted almost 10 hours with the regular load of running the A/C, fridge and battery charger. Still have to weld a stub in the muffler to hook up the exhaust stack.Rideandrepair, Dino soar and loudtom Thank this. -
My 4' excess conduit broke at the clamp as well. I didn't have it high enough to hit anything. The constant stress broke it, kind of like bending sheet metal back and forth. It was a really clean break, and it was barely hanging on.
Rideandrepair, Dino soar and lilillill Thank this. -
Got the new Honda installed. Unfortunately, the way the exhaust is pointed means I have to face the control panel toward the cab.
I did have to weld a little stub of conduit into the end of the muffler.
Rideandrepair, Speed_Drums, Roberts450 and 1 other person Thank this.
