would it be a bad idea to use braided flex on an external exhaust? thinking about 4 inch braided flex wrapped in heat wrap, maybe it would last more than 18 months

Anyone look into a larger muffler, or adding a muffler? Keeping back pressure in mind, seems an extra muffler would work, if bigger than original, with larger diameter pipe afterwards.

I'm just setting my generator up now.

My plan is very simple. I have a piece of Channel that's bolted to the frame. The exhaust will come out from the generator with flex pipe to a regular straight steel pipe clamped to the channel with U bolts.

I have a flapper for the top of the pipe to keep rain out.

I have to make a base for the bottom of the generator so that I can bolt it down and so that it's sits high enough that I can change oil right there without moving anything.

When all else fail, use logic.
