in our plastic injection molding machines (anything really with an electric motor), we'd install capacitors to the motors. We would see a 20-40% electrical usage savings depending on the size of the capacitor/motor/press used. And we had some 40-60 hp electric motors we ran on the big presses.

Yes, they give it a punch to help the motor start reducing the power needed to do it. Much easier to charge a capacitor than to spike for a motor.

Camping World has the CARB version of the EU2000i on sale. $999 free shipping. Internet price. I've heard that you can walk into any if their stores and get the same price.

Exhaust was just above the frame rail, so no problems there.
Air intake was at the front, right behind the gap you see on the front door/cover. So no issues there neither funnily enough!

I've got a new Champion 3500 to replace the old one from last year that had 1800 hours on it. A lot quieter than the previous one (equal to a loud APU is my equivalence). I only run a 5000btu AC, which does fine for cooling the bunk area (have an upper bunk down, and when it gets really hot, I hang curtains down from the top bunk and just cool the sleeping area. Last year I went to 105 degrees and was still cool in the bunk that way.

Right now, I'm in Willcox AZ and the generator is working quite well. Sitting in the bunk with the AC blowing on me.

Costco has a Champion generator for 549.00 it's a 7000/9000 watt carb certified,if not a member that's $55 for the year. I think consumer reports gave this model high marks. The $549 price is good till 7/7/13 then back to $699.00

How do you add the hard start capacitor?

Depends on what you are adding it to.
On the rooftop AC units, you remove the cover/shroud, then find where all the wires go. Normally a cover there too, so remove it and there is normally a capacitor there already for the fan and compressor. The new capacitor simply plugs into the wiring for the compressor, while making the existing compressor for fan motor use only.
I would imagine Google would give lots of examples of different ac units etc.
