quickest way to become unhireable these days is to rack up some speeding tickets....watch your speed both in the truck and your personal vehicle. congrats on your coming "new addition" and very good luck with the job search. if i found i NEEDED to go to school in order to get hired, id go to an independent school that guarantees work once you graduate, rather than going to a "company school". company school means you contract to stay with them for x amount of time, and you may find that to not be in your best interest after getting some experience.

    Kalki Thanks this.

Some years back, Transco lines, Russelville, Ar. and Hogan, St. Louis, Mo. use to hire foreigners fresh off the ship, or airplane. I chatted with a couple from New Zealand awhile back that come here for 9 months and run balls out for 9 months then go home for 3 and come back again. I talked to an Aussie in person that was recruited by Transco Lines. He flew in and landed at 7 am. By 5 pm, he had gone thru orientation, gotten an Arkansas CDL and was dispatched his first load. He did have truck experience in Australia. Might give them a call.
