Wait what?

I'm pretty sure CA DMV says "pass medical, bring 70-something bucks, pass written, bring truck, pass street, voila enjoy"

Is Arizona different somehow and actually REQUIRES classroom instruction? Especially for someone who has been there done that before and just let it lapse later????

 

How many people can pass a pre-trip inspection, if they haven't been around trucks for years and not actually doing the inspection? Many drivers haven't done a proper pre-trip inspection since getting a CDL and would flunk that test today. The DMV won't give a road test until a proper pre-trip is done, by the book. The DOT officer stands right beside you and monitors the entire inspection and will know if you're trying to BS your way through it.

No BS here sir.
I start at the driver door permit book behind the seat. Then start walking to each important part of the truck and believe me everything is important.

The problem lies with the testor. By the time i reached the steer right and working over the drums, pads, linkage, air hoses etc etc etc they wave hands and say WHOA stop for the love of god.

Endeth the pretrip. Lets drive.

THAT would be a little bit of butter flies but it will break that rust in about 10 minutes or so.

If I cannot, then I am not a trucker and should walk away from all of this.

We are replacing our car licensing to get the real id gold star on next week and from there i have the option to permit class A and a trucking company will provide a driver and truck after 10 days. I go to the state testing ground with 50.00 in hand and so on.

What will be will be. It will be a fun day. Let's go.

 

A friend of mine just got his back in Az , in a borrowed truck without going to any school,never heard such a thing, and people pass the pretrip everyday without going to school. We help people get their license all the time, without them having to pay for it.

 

same way I got my cdl back in 2000. I learned how to do pretrip by cdl handbook. Then I drove my friend's truck with him about a month. After that small LA based company hired me. I was on LA-Denver route...
