I don't even like parking off the fuel island (at the pullup area) long enough to go inside for C.o.N. if I know it will be more than a couple of minutes, but with the growing trend of less parking, more facilities (Loves tire shops are a great example in some places) they are taking the parking spots we once had. Usually if I am getting out of the truck for a few minutes after fueling, if I see another drive pull in behind me I will at least try to give him a headsup so he knows. It may not help, but at least I have done the little bit possible to make the situation as polite as possible.

no-tarps i said i dont have it in me to do it, and i agree with you, to east to get hurt, to expensive, and def would hold things up, had one of our own drivers hook up, hook the air lines crank the landing gear up pull out, and was not fully hooked in, trl crashed down, and the lading gear craked, i dont no the out come of what happend, as i left and the term manager was now their..prob not in a good mood.
when i pull into a t/s i usually pull to the fuel island, pull thru and and run inside for a drink or bathroom, if im going to be any longer then a few mins ill go park in a spot, but ill tell ya, even when i run in and out real quick and i get back a truck is behind me, i do a tug test before i pull off -
Ive seen guys sitting inside, eating a meal while their truck is sitting in the fuel island running, and they didnt even fuel up.
On a side note, one night I was dead tired and the truck stop was all filled up,so I had no choice but to pull through the fuel island and park there for a few hours, luckly it was late at night and obviously no one cared nor did anyone bang on my door to have me move. -
Goodmorning, i once was gary ind at the ta there,i was park'ed on that little road , beside the truckstop, and behind 4 trucks too fill up, well after waiting en getting trucker happy
i went too find out what was the holdup was , yup it was jb hunt driver , done filled up and went in after eating and proced too take a shower, everyboby was not a happy camper that day,

ok like i said we got 2 fuel bays right next to each other
well today i was in one in a bobtail fueling it, driver pulls behind me in a set of doubles, and THE OTHER BAY WAS WIDE OPEN.....nothing was blocking his entrance he just isnt the smartest person out there
so i start fueling and i get done......and im not about to be in any hurry to get out of this idiots way.......i finish fueling put the pump up and hes looking anxious, starts his truck back up.....then he sees me start releasing the latches for the hood
he opens his window and says "cant you do that outside"
i said no.....after all it was 3 oclock in the morning
so i check the oil, check the coolant, have to walk over to where they keep the coolant to get some and fill it.........check the washer fluid and add that....
then i close the hood......he starts his engine again......i got in the truck honestly just to mess with this idiot , grabbed paper towels from in the cab, get out and start washing the rear window (day cab) and mirrors
he shuts his truck off and is just fuming.....he says are u gonna get the f*** out of my way anytime today???????"
i say "nobody told your ####### to pull in behind me when theres clearly another fuel bay thats wide open, you could of been gone by now if you had half a brain in your head"
he just got back in his truck, cussing, like i give a f***
and i didnt go out of my way to do those thigns either, thats my job assignment in the mornings to fuel tractors check fluids wash windows check tires and lights -
Umm why are you not popping the hood and checking this stuff while you are pumping fuel??

All I can tell you is don't leave your truck running on the fuel island and disappear for over 15 mins. I have a partner that will move your truck for you way out in the parking lot somewhere.
Don't ever think your truck can't be open if it's locked, she is very skilled at getting into them.
She will check inside for the driver before moving said rig. She has done this more than once to much of the praise of everyone waiting in line. -
Hope she doesn't decide to do that in a rig with a quiet dog in the sleeper
PitBullLuver Thanks this.
