No thanks... Ive had to do that once when some jack wagon brake checked me... Flat spotted every tire on the rig. Luckily I run my own dash camera so the company didnt rip me a new ###.

Was gonna say. You tap the brakes a little too hard on ice, and you're gonna have a really bad day

I had one last company and 99% of those dang alarms going off were false alarms. Quite a few times that stupid brake assist went off and it slammed the brakes when cars were slowing in the off ramp. Once it picked up on a bicyclist on the side of the road and it slammed the brakes ilon nearly causing the car behind me to hit my trailer..nothing but a distraction

Well said... About the time I get my mellow miles eating groove on, some false alarm goes off sending stress and frustration levels to unnecessary levels.

Trucks are becoming belittling screeching Shrews.

I have had 3 times where it went off. Once was just a hard brake where it got confused on the interstate about an off ramp. The second put me in the belt when it thought a construction barrel was a car and the last was someone turning in front of me. I could clearly see they were making the turn and nothing was going to prevent that but it couldn't and panicked stop me. As you say, it's a pain for us, but someone following too close is going to eat a trailer.

The more they try to erase the human factor the more distracted driving there will be (it’s not distracted it’s inattentive driver) if you think the machine is watching for you you will not stay engaged. Many people believe in A.I. are willing to believe that it will improve life (soulless bastages they believe in automation and think work is where you park your arse while you facebook on your phone) you have seen it and it’s getting worse.

If they are in a Volvo and it's doing 64 there is a phone on the instrument cluster, being flat. They are watching a movie or porn.

Tying this thread and the other about being fired from CRE together, my collision mitigation has caused me to have 3 hard braking events in recent days and almost be rearended twice. The hard braking were caused by cars cutting across in front of me and the system overreacting, on one occasion, I was passing a car, they decided to merge over at the same time to avoid traffic entering the highway, the system screeched, jammed on the brakes and flashed "DRIVER TAKE OVER" at me. The car behind me almost plowed into me, as I was getting ready to make another lane change when this happened, fortunately there was not an accident, but it was #### close, and I ended up almost stopped in the middle of the highway.
