Im startinf to get really nervous...I read all sorts of things on here that convince me that Im gonna get sent home right away because I forgot some minor detail or something on my application..When I filled it out I did so to the best of recolection on dates, and I didnt add any of my pt.Time jobs because I felt they were irrelavent...I just an email to my recruiter to make sure that I even added the 4 weeks I did with PAM back in 01..Cause sometimes I dont list that..I told her about it, but not sure I listed it on the application...major anxiety attacks going on here..I just put my notice in at my job and Im completely terrified that im gonna get sent packing for something stupid..and be unemployed...I got a lot riding on this decision..some words of comfort and advice would be appreciated..LoL

Kris the recruiter keeps saying everything is fine..but then I hear that recruiters will send you anyway even if its not...I dont know what to beleive...

If I remember right they gave us a copy of everything on day one and told us to correct anything that was wrong, so if the recruiter didn't put PAM down just add it then. I was a little fuzzy on exact dates and it didn't matter, I think as long as you are relatively close and not trying to hide anything that's what really matters. I know its nerve racking but really, if you were honest about everything on the app you should have no worries, enjoy the Greyhound ride and hope for mild weather as you will be outside almost all day every day.
I don't think anyone got sent home from my class for background issues, we did have one fail the drug test (I'm sure there is always that one) and a few have issues with the physical but that was it. Oh and can't forget the 6 that could not straight back when it came time for that test, oddly enough my one roommate who had no problems picking it up choked big time on the test and the one guy who always seemed to get the trailer jacked managed to pass, go figure. -
They do give you a chance to correct your record and if you don't do it, they will send you home for not telling the truth. They did this on day 3 for us. The class three weeks ago started with 22 and ended up with 5 that finished. The current class that is final week started with 19 and ended with 10. The class in front mine started with 19 and now has 6. My class started with 17 and now has 7.
We lost 4 for physical, 3 for background and 3 for not studying for the pee test.
Good Luck. -
Wow, 3 out of 17 didn't pass the pee test, that's just mind blowing to me. Honestly I have no problem with people doing such things but going into a job where you know you will get tested that's just sad, all you need to do is not toke up for a month, its not that hard. Thats almost 20% of the group gone for pure stupidity right there.

One of the guys in my class years ago stayed clean long enough for the school, made it through ok, but thought that was all there was to it. When he got to orientation he failed his whiz quiz because he was stupid during the three days between school and orientation, partied like a rock star and thought he wouldn't get caught.

Trucking is a highly regulated industry, like aviation. Employers are VERY serious about the safety regulations, especially the biggest carrier in the country. You better be serious as an employee, too, or you won't be one very long.
