yea, I looked up the rules after posting and I after thinking about it some more did remember that my dispatcher said a drug test wasn't needed due to lack of a ticket.

Zaroba, the next time you see a Class 8 you want to drive, stop. Just stop. Right there in your tracks. I don't care if you are a barefootin' it and the pavement temp is 125 degrees. Skip-jump your feet if you have to, back and forth like that, but stop. Just stop. The key thing is to take a deep breath, focus, take another deep breath, and focus some more. Think. I am serious now. Not trying to be mean. But the hard truth is all that works. After you have stopped, taken that deep breath, focused, and thought, you will conclude you and Class 8's......never the twain shall meet. Not now. Not tomorrow. Not next month. Not next year. You need to stick with Warehouse work and/or since you are special needs with that too, maybe a fast food job. The trucking thing is not a fit for you. We do not need yet another hazardous trucker on the road. We have plenty. And plenty more after that. And a few after that. Why, just yesterday, on my run, one idiot trucker died after being hit by another idiot trucker in broad daylight on a flat, four-lane, no-obstruction, no excuse stretch of asphalt concrete as flat and smooth as glass. No excuses whatsoever. None. The driver killed was a risk to himself and innocent, smart motorists, who got lucky. The driver who killed him is like you. Stop. Stop now! Before you kill somebody or yourself. Trucks are not your thing. And I am serious. And I am not trying to be mean. Your driving record and forum manner indicate you are not for trucks but a decent guy who can find decent employment that will keep you safe. That will not be in a truck.

I'm going to be that one guy.... Please stay out of a truck the company I work for can't afford drivers like you around us

Seems like a bit of an overreaction. I know we can't all be perfect, but if everybody who ever made a mistake wasn't allowed to drive then there would be very few trucks on the road.
It's not like I tried to make a u-turn on a 2 lane road or took off somebodies hood in a truck stop.
The first has never crossed my mind, not even when driving my car and I've never come close to having an accident when parking. Never had my trailer hit curbs while turning, never followed to close to stop safely, never change lanes unless there is enough space to do so without being too close to the guy in front of me or leaving too little space behind me (how many people do you see that wont change lanes unless there are at least 2-3 truck lengths of empty space?). I don't even like driving fast. I may not be perfect, but I am far from being the worst driver out there. lolLast edited: May 12, 2016
Woodys Thanks this. -
@zaroba Also if everyone listened to the naysayers we would have zero trucks on the road.
Keep looking man you'll find something eventually. Even if it's a piss poor company with bad equipment, as long as it pays the bills and gets you some safe miles under you it would be beneficial. -
There's some warehouse jobs you can work a few years and get promoted to a driver (food service, coke, etc)

Looking online, your PSP is supposed to list all DOT recordable accidents from the past 5 years.
I just got a copy of my PSP and it does not list the accident. -
Yup. DOT reportables are visible on your PSP.
-
My PSP only lists the Jan accident, not the Nov accident, even though the other guy had to be towed away and even though my DAC says it is a DOT recordable.
Wonder if the cop made a mistake in my favor.
Wonder if I can use that as a way to get it completely removed from my DAC.
