Getting a new start

Another history tid bit is the reason why they were White/Freightliner, at that time Freightliner did not have a dealership network, they basically started as a in house build for CF, because Leland James the founder of CF wasn't satisfied with the current trucks being built, so he decided to build his own for the company, well after awhile outside companies took notice and became interested in the Freightliners and inquired about how to buy them, since they were not set up with dealerships, they struck a deal with White who had dealerships to sell the Freightliners and to do the service work on them, part of that agreement was that they would be badged White/Freightliner, but White never really built one Freightliner, just sold and serviced them.
