I'm the 80k Trimac guy. Going straight to tank's is the best advice I can give anyone. I doubt I will ever pull anything else. I did 3 years at Schneider Bulk and then switched to Trimac's Elite Fleet. Great money and I'm loving it. You will have to do some time before you get to where I'm at but 50 to 60k your first year is very doable. If i was you I would drop apps of with all the companies China listed. Schneider will probably take you if everything else falls through. Don't be upset though, Schneider bulk is pretty darn good for a training company.

If i had it to do again I would have gone straight to tank's instead of wasting time in vans and flat.

    TruckrWnnaB and Christopher305 Thank this.

Hearing your experience sound good. I didnt plan to do otr tanker, I dont even know much info about otr tankers such as miles, cpm, etc. I wanted to do so something local but if otr tankers is where I have to start then I will do it for a year or 2. And yes Schneider sound like a good company to get experience with starting off.

Sure look for something local but you're in Florida, kinda the black hole for trucking. OTR tanking pays great, plus you will rack up experience and then you can turn that into a good paying local job.

My first OTR job was pulling tanks nearly 10 years ago. If you want to go tanker then just go do it.

Yea being in Florida is the hard part

ccc, ctl, kenan, Florida rock, or Dillon would probably be your options

Yea I lived in zephyrhills just northeast of Tampa. Just moved a few months ago to NC. I'm in the middle of nowhere now it's even harder than Florida to find a local job so I went back otr. I did a lot of research when I was there though because I didn't like the company I was with there anymore (10 years there) if I didn't move I was going to go with Dillon They are really expanding in Florida. If I remember right they do 12 hour shifts but obviously if you couldn't run another load you wouldn't work a full 12. They do train, they have all new peterbuilts and every truck has Sirius radio company paid. Had a few friends work for Ccc and they basically said they were paid like 10hr. I did talk to a otr ctl driver who said he was getting paid good but didn't want to tell me specifics said he had been there for years and was happy
