No need to get an updated book. It’s all online. Book just made it easier to post a pic. I’m not good at that linking thing on the inter web .

That's a fine line . If they enforced every rule as it is written it would shut the country down.
So they do a ''controlled;; enforcement.

    Linte_Loco Thanks this.

OP, if you want to run recaps, you can't be using all 14 hours/day throughout the week. They add up fast towards the 70 hrs total.

8.75 (on-duty, driving or not) hours per day, average, to be able to run recap hours.

The Rand McNally elog literally has a button that says sleeper berth-customer loading/unloading.

It seems kinda silly that some people think you can't put sleeper as you are literally sleeping in the sleeper

my logbook has a statement in the front that says i am relieved of all duties related to loading and unloading and can remain off duty until shipment verification takes place. ie sign bol or check in/out. maybe thats just a brand x thing. ive never had an issue with dot over that.

Well I know if Swift doesn't have a problem with my being off duty during those times, likely there is no problem.

They are very strict with logging correctly.
If I send my empty call while off duty and then start driving I will get a message on the Qualcom to correct my logs, because I have to be on duty while performing any work related activities.
