Hello everyone. I'm an ex-driver who is looking to become a driver once again. I have over 5 years of experience driving for Schneider, Lebarnold (which I believe has become ATS since I left), M.S. Carriers (bought by Swift) and an upstate NY company hauling logs called JudCor (out of business). I signed up here to get advice & information as I am sure the industry has changed in the 10 years I have been away. I will be running out of the Tampa, Florida area but have been having trouble getting back into the business because of my time away. I have 2 offers...Swift, who I have some knowledge of, and Wil-Trans, who I have very little knowledge of. I am in the process of switching my license to Florida as I just moved here and I'm hoping to make an educated decision asap. This seems like a great forum & I look foward to reading the posts from the drivers that I used to share the road with, and the new ones as well. I hope to see you on the road soon.![]()

Welcome to TTR, Welcome back out. being off the road for over 12 months think most places will have you run thru a refresher course. After putting your time back in then you open doors back up.
TwistedFreak Thanks this. -
Thank you. I expect to have some training but I'm hoping to do well right off. I don't feel like it is something that is easily forgotten, however I do expect that there have been changes in the industry while I was gone. I miss driving though and really can't wait to get going. I'm leaning towards WilTrans. Although I know very little about them, they seem like a good company and they seem to have plenty of freight. Hoping for the best. Anxious to get started again but trying to be patient enough to make the right decisions.

What a hassle to get my CDL switched over to this State! Almost there! Appointment Tuesday...then hoping to find a company right away. Working at the t/a now & it kills me to watch the drivers come in and out. Just makes me miss it more. Hopefully on the road soon!
