Michelin spends a lot of money every year on checking the rolling resistance of tires. Not just theirs but every common tire out there. They've proved over and over that the same model of tire in a low pro has less rolling resistance. I don't know where you were "educated" or by who (feel free to cite your sources) but it's wrong.

Actually yes I do, for M.A.R.C (Michelin Americans Research Center). And I sit in training with the designers of Michelin tires and this very subject was brought up. I thought the same as you until was educated otherwise. The test is for tire design. If you go to Michelin website and do a rolling resistance calculator it lets you choose tire line such as XLED, XDA, and other brand lines like Yokohama ty517 ect. Not lo pro or 11R.

Yes, I'm sure you work for Michelin and you drive on the side as a hobby, right?

Nope, I don’t drive. I work for Michelin placing and studying new development tires in fleets and have 3 trucks of my own with 3 drivers.

I have no reason to lie to you. I
I have no reason to lie. Just trying to help. You can believe me or not. I’ve been through a lot of training and have learnt a lot which I apply to my own trucks.

Well just so there's no confusion, I was being sarcastic and I don't believe you. You're 100% wrong about taller tires having a lower rolling resistance and I don't for one second buy that you work for Michelin

Well if I’m wrong then the designers at Michelin are wrong. If you think about it the less revs per mile equals less times flex and tread blocks compress which is less rolling resistance. The tread is what makes rr not sidewall. That’s why Michelin xdn2 has high rr. A lot of tread ans low rr tires has less tread
