Something here in warehouse country is switcher services providing yard goats with drivers to the mega warehouses, i get applicants from them due to forced weekends...wink, wink, nudge, nudge...Hourly work on private property is not interstate commerce so the HOS is not a consideration.

We have 3 dedicated switchers at a couple of our import customers that asked for our help, after throwing the service out. A large electronics and appliance warehouse may switch 150+ doors in and out in an 8 hour shift so it is hard work. Upside is you will be able to park a trailer anywhere it will fit...My new TICO switchers are a lot nicer than the old ones.

$52G is low pay for a truck driver; even a new driver right out of school.
Get all the endorsements plus TWIC & Passport or Passport Card. All these give you more opportunities for higher paying jobs.
You might find a weekend only job through a temp service such as Trillium.

    AramatAz and tlc9616 Thank this.

Check with KoolShot Expedited in Kansas City. Located in the FFE (Frozen Food Express) terminal.
Not sure, but maybe find weekend work there.

If you're willing to run teams with FFE (Frozen Food Express) it's possible to make $90G+ if you're a go-getter with a strong work ethic.
@TravR1 and @Jenn72 can fill you in on the Plasma account at FFE.

Same in Kansas City; FedEx Freight is growing rapidly and hiring drivers with CDL-A Permit.

There's some Teamsters outfits in Kansas City that have programs for new drivers.
Some are "dock to driver" programs or some type of "Driver Development" program for drivers with little to no experience.
Wages are Teamster Union Scale which are greater than most other carriers! City Drivers also receive overtime pay after 8 hours/day.
Couple of these are YRC Freight and ABF Freight.

    FFE--plasma

    Team Driving
    40cpm for all dispatched miles.
30.00 stop pay. You load your own trailer.

We pick up all over the country.

50.00 to drop it all off at the end of the week.
3 weeks on the road, about 1 week off. They pay you 825.00 the week you don't work (you stay on call).

Made 80k my first year on the road. I'm still there, at about 90k now 3 years later. Downside, uncle Sam will just keep all of your money on tax day. Lol. It feels good though to know you are in those higher tax brackets.
