    Hello gentleman
I live here in nyc and there are driving school that offer cdl training and drive time about 15 to 20 hours for $1000 to $1500 to get you pass permit and road test.
My question if you through with one of these schools and pass cdl permit and road test. What are the possibilities of getting hired with a mega carrier or small otr company?
    Thanks

It will be tough because trucking company insurance companies have to approve it. If the company hires you anyway, their insurance goes up.I'd go the safe route and attend a school that's 160 hours or attend a trucking company in-house cdl school.
Either way, trucking companies require drug test:
Hair follicle test - must be clean for 12 months to pass.
Urine test - must be clean 90 days to pass.
Millis Transfer - urine test - $500.00 up front from you and the rest is free is you agree to work there 12 months. Meals & lodging provided during school.
CFI - www.cfidrive.com - hair follicle test - no money up front. Must agree to drive for them 12 months. Meals & lodging provided during school.
Prime Inc. - urine drug test - meals & lodging provided during school. Must agree to drive there for 12 months.
Stevens Transport - urine drug test - lodging & meals during school. Must agree to drive there 12 months.

It's sad that you have to automatically include hair follicle info without them asking anymore.

    Chinatown Thanks this.

Yeah Rob-NYC......the school you are talking about is just behind the wheel training. The 160 hr course is two weeks classroom as well. Most major co's want you to be a little knowledgable in logging etc when you come on board
