drive by now and then, rare to see much activity, maybe a dry box moved around, gates and yard don't look like they see much use.

 

Have you also tried Estes, Old Dominion, or XPO Logistics (a.k.a. Conway Freight)? These are year round LTL freight outfits. Another possible suggestion would be United Parcel Service, driving their line hauls or P&D lines.

Still not hearing anything from Saia in any of the spots I applied to myself. As for Old Dominion, I do recall seeing a banner for driver hiring in Commerce City CO when I was on my way back from an interview up there. From what I'm seeing, the need for local/line-haul seems to be quite heavy up in the colder regions of the country as opposed to the more, fair-weathered spots I'm trying to get to. After whigging out on the first interview in the Denver area due my dismay over potential weather woes and the insane apartment costs, I might have to re-pursue it and any other company I could find up there due to the pay at my current company slinking off into the ditch.
So much for trying to stick to one-season weather spots.

 

What bout Colorado Springs do they have anything local there. How about sysco in Denver.

 

Saia is hiring P &D for 28.41 and LH for .64 cpm in N Bergen,NJ.What kind of company are they?

 

I've been trying Sysco at a few different locations, but no dice from all of them. They claim my application checks out all right, but "they've found somebody more qualified for the position" each time. This is even after the lengthy phone interview they do. I almost got on with Sysco in Albuquerque, even had a road test with them. But nothing came about from that either.
As for Colorado Springs, same apartment costs coupled with the weather situation. I grew up in the SoCal desert and even the winters in this part of NM I currently live in are a pain for me.
I could probably manage the CO winters to some degree, but don't expect speed out of me.

Where I'm at right now, I'm only paying $400/mo for 1bd/ba. But due to some mistakes I made in other areas, I'm paying a jacked amount on a vehicle right now, along with some medical bill installments from a motorcycle mishap from last year. So the more money I could make and save, without having to increase expenses in one more thing like rent, the better.
Only other option is to jump from local shuttle/milk loading on over to the regional side of Indian River where I'm at right now. But from what I've seen every day here, even that seems like trouble all on its own.

 

Ah I see, you should check out Texas especially the big cities such as Houston Dallas or San Antonio there's a higher chance of getting with a good LTL carrier. Good luck on your search

 

I was really trying to aim towards Austin with its fair weather and killer bicycle scene. But San Antonio seems quite promising as well. In the meantime, I'm going to try and hold out with the current gig while I poke around in Phoenix, Albuquerque and Denver as well on my off-days. NM has been quite an awesome state for the past, 4-5 years. But with the ups and downs I've been hitting over the past, several months, the reality of the employment attributes of this state are beginning to cave the dream in.

 

I see that their rates are pretty good, I'd like to get some confirmation on them though.
