Doesn't matter "what" they were for... "ANY" felony means you'll get denied entry when they catch it no matter how old it is.

If the DUI is older than 10 years you'll be fine. 10 years is considered the rehabilitation period that they require without additional documents which have to be applied for. Canada's no different than the US, they'll look at your charges and determine if you're eligible to be granted entry under the laws of their land. Passports are the norm now, that became a requirement under the WHTI program introduced by the US a few years ago. Wasn't to get into Canada, was to get back into our own country. They're good for 10 years once you obtain them.imup4it Thanks this.

That's why I said he needs to talk to his company. You would think they wouldn't send him knowing he has felonies which he had to have put on his application upon getting hired.

i was told by a company where i live that goes in and out of canada alot that my 14 yr old dui isnt a problem but the fact that i owe some back taxes and child support present a problem in getting a passport .

Well then that wouldn't be a Port of Entry problem, you'd have to take that up with the state, just like some states won't reissue a CDL unless that type of stuff is cleared up. Gotta hate when you have pay for your kids that you made.
