I have been turned down from companies for several reasons and would like to know if there are any companies flatbed/otr that accept recent graduates.

    - 21 years old means too young for TMC or Wagoneers
    - Speeding 69 on a 45 means not good enough record for many companies such as Maverick
    - Only having drivers license for 1 year and a few months means not enough time for Roehl or kllm

Do I really have to wait 3 years just cause of a ticket, in a regular car, before I even got my cdl permit?

24 mph over is going to make you undesirable for a lot of companies. They don't care if you were caught "slowing down late" or "got caught in smokies trap around a blind curve".

All they see is the number over the limit and toss the application in the bin. Speeding is one of those things that is very serious in trucking, even though many companies tell you "get the load there on time driver, or you won't have a job when you get back!"

You may just have to take a job you don't want for a little while, or do your best to explain what happened when it comes up and hope for the best.

But why not go over what happened just for curiosity's sake?

Everybody needs drivers. Somebody will hire you. Might not be a great job. It take it. Do your time move on.

I was going the flow of traffic which was already 15mph above the speed limit until I got to a hill with no one in front of me. I didnt slow down because I would use this momentum when I come right back up after going down. An officer was waiting at the bottom of the hill and singled me out of the group. I have driven this road hundreds of time because I go to work and college. I admit it was my fault but in my defence I have never seen anyone go 45mph on this road after thousands of miles on it. There are intersecting roads which makes it dangerous to go too fast but I always stay on the left side.

You are going to have to find a way to stop that speeding.

Speed limit signs are not just there for the amusement of the highways. I was a chronic speeder once and paid for it many times over. Usually by not being able to be hired a few years until the hot tickets cooled off.

No tickets no problem. But keep getting fast because everyone else is fast and you will find more tickets.

I also would look really hard at moving out. If the people refuse to take it easy as a society you don't want to be there when things really get difficult. Here in the south we might get there a while a little slower than most. the time saved is insignificant.

Insurance looking at your application can only see that ticket. (Or others...) you can defend, excuse, justify, testify, complain or talk about the pavement situation until you are blue in the face. The fact is you were over the speed limit by a certain amount on a public road in a vehicle. Either a car, cycle or god help you a CMV with a CDL in your pocket.

Im done lecturing. What I want you to understand is that you need to take it easy regardless of what "They, or "Everyone" does around you. If that makes you the slowest, great. If it makes you shunned as public enemy local number one. Then move to a better state.

It doesnt matter if people were speeding past you. You were still speeding and the cop probably just picked the youngest driver and pulled you over. Either that or you were singled out due to the kind of vehicle you were driving.
