Try doing a night move with a 13 axle setup.. It's a long nerve wracking trip.
And worse if you have a top heavy ld.

Almost had Michigan spring thaw laws bite me in the rear. Moving a loader to the UP in Michigan. Only 82.5K gross on 5 axles, so I didn't think I would have an issue. Got my IA and WI permits no problem. MI got rejected, comment said no overweight loads allowed. What!?! That can't be right. Call the state. Explained to me that if you are over 80K you can get 12.5 on the steer, 16 each on tandem axles bringing me to 76.5K. That's not going to work. How 'bout shipping on 6 axles. Only allowed 13K each on a tandem. That gets me to 83.5K but that trailer would have added about 5K lbs. Still not going to work. Called the dealer to discuss. They didn't hesitate in telling me to deliver to another one of their stores in Northern WI...whew! I was sweating for a minute. I had frost laws in the back of my mind but didn't think they would be so restrictive. I got off easy, but will never take frost laws for granted again. Lesson learned.
