Getting new CDL in Charleston SC

I know this question has been asked a lot but I cant really find anything useful. What is the best way to get your CDL for the first time? I already have a permit with tanker, double and triple, passenger, combination, air breaks endorsements, the only one I do not have is HAZMAT but I have to have the full Class A to take that test. I have reached out to several companies and most either will not contact you back or are not taking new people because of COVID. I understand that I will have to team drive with a trainer for a bit but the only company I did talk with CRST wants a year of team driving with another driver just as new as you are and I would prefer not that. Most of the schools around here are $5K+ and I cant afford that right now. I have driven non-cdl trucks with gooseneck trailers for many years and would take my test in that if it didn't add restrictions. I would at this point drive anything but flatbed is preferred.

 

Attend a community college or tech cdl school.
They're cheap and of high quality.

There's a small flatbed outfit in SC that hires new cdl school grads and can run all over the USA if you want.

I did reach out to Miller Monte but never hear anything back and they are the only Tech school or community college near by that offer CDL.
