Why volunteer to make 18 bucks a day when I average over $375 on the road? I throw all my mail away, nothing but junk anyway. All my bills come electronically.

I meant not having to appear for that summons. I only had the option to choose another date within a specific time frame of the original date. They said I was only allowed to reschedule twice.

Tell us you're a felon or over 70 years old without telling us you're a felon or over 70 years old. :D

Really appreciate this, I never knew such a service existed. I have my Aunt clear my mailbox weekly, but at 80 years old I can't expect her to catch everything that may be important.

Me neither. I've been a registered voter since I was old enough to vote. Never got a jury summons.

I got a PO Box years ago when my home mailbox started having mail stolen. I pay $200 per year and because my Post Office is way across town I signed up for Informed Delivery so I could check my PO Box every week or two. MOST of the junk mail that was coming to my house is never put into my POBox. A PO Box is also one of the best ways to keep from having identity theft. I have all of my credit files frozen, so that even if someone stole my identity they cannot open credit in my name. A credit freeze is free and takes only a few minutes to start the first time and just a few seconds to thaw/re-freeze if you ever need to open more credit in the future.

If I had said jury duty pays more than trucking I would now change my mind after you compare the pay for each. I didn't say that. Why volunteer for legal trouble for ignoring jury notices? Anyone that can't get out of jury duty isn't trying. The IRS, your state govt, Federal govt all send mail. Throwing that mail away doesn't exempt you from the consequences. Not every act of defiance is smart. Lots of them are just volunteering for trouble.

I've had to report for jury duty a half dozen times or so. The next to last time was a murder trial. Personally, I think you should be exempt from any further jury duty after serving on a murder trial. The last time I was called, I had previously met the defense attorney on the civil trial. When the attorneys started to question me I said I had met the defense attorney and his former partner was a friend of the family. The Judge asked if I could set aside any bias and I told him I'd rather not serve on a trial where I knew anyone. I told the Judge that I had encountered this before when I was questioned as a potential juror on a theft trial for a defendant that ran a used car business and was selling consignment vehicles and ripping the consignees. I had played on a softball team with the defendant and didn't want to sit in judgment of someone I had fond memories of. The Judge looked at his paperwork and saw my juror service record and acknowledged that I had been called to duty too frequently. He dismissed me and I haven't been called since so far. And I live in a county of 500,000+ people. It was ridiculous how frequently I was being called. It had only been two years since I had served on the murder trial.
