I'm taking hometime this weekend and something I've noticed is how exhausted I am after being out on the road for a month. When I'm at home now I just mope around and do nothing because I feel so exhausted.

How do you get over being exhausted from the road?

You're probably not exhausted so much as your body has learned to be comfortable while [and prefers being] sedentary.

    Anyway, that's my excuse.

Before i was truck driving I never wanted to stay inside. I'd wake up @ 8 and be out and about all day by 9 or 10.

Make an effort to get some exercise while on the road. Even a few laps around the truck stop...

I think you are just getting your land legs again. OTR usually means being on the go 7 days a week so when you finally get a couple days of nothing to do your brain needs to unravel which means lack of motivation to do anything.

    That's how I feel anyway.

This is the anthem for some truckers. Either a woman has driven them to truck, or the truck (the "woman") has driven them to the edge. Either way, they're not the same person anymore

    Motivate at home.
I have same reaction first sometimes second day home. Around 9 am I go outside and do "anything" to get motivated.
After I start with something,i I stay active all day. This helps sleeping better that night.
    Good luck.

You were on the road for a month and are exhausted?

Try three months without a break.

What a stupid response that is. Why should he try 3 months?

Always enjoyed Ridgelines well informed and educational posts, but this nonsense gets the thumbs down.
