Hey.... I hate to break it to ya, roadHOG, but if the load is paid based on miles AND weight, he'd KNOW that when he looked at it on the board, or before he bid on it, in any case. That would factor into the GROSS PAY on the load. DUH. It's not like it's some arcane super-trucker mystery he would only find out after he scaled so he would only know what it paid after he scaled it, and he'd be able to do that simple little bit of math before deciding to take the load. You take loads that pay on miles AND weight without knowing what they weigh first, do ya? Who cares how he gets paid, and why he's talking about 26%, as a driver on someone else's truck or his own? 26% is 26% it doesn't take a supertrucker to figure that out. I'll leave it to him to work out his expenses to figure his net. I'm not his dang accountant. BTW I already semi-apologized for the duh comment. It seemed kinda obvious, as opposed to the deeper meaning you were apparently seeking.

Best to keep quiet so people only THINK you're stupid, instead of giving them proof, eh? I agree. Ever hear this little phrase on your "big radio" before? I bet you have, and I bet you will again. S.U.S.

Most percentages are not 1 calculated at say 26% of 100% of the truck pay.. It depends on each drivers payment agreement.. He could get say 26% of the "linehaul" ONLY and 0% of say fuel surcharges.. Chances are the driver won't get ALL the accessorial charges either like tarping charges (Unless he has bought his own tarps) So if a settlement shows $200 for tarping, that doesn't mean the driver gets all of that $200.. he didn't buy the tarps, eventualy they're going to have to be replaced.. That $200 goes towards that. The driver should have a set seperate payment. ( like $50 flat tarping pay) in addition to his %. Same goes for detention time, expediting surcharges, fuel, O.D. charges, HazMat..ect.

It all depends on the company and the drivers agreement / contract...
