Getting paid salary

For local work hourly is the only way to go. Unless its line-haul which is obviously a little different.

"Those who can't see have to feel"... Don't believe I'd kill myself. Surely he understands the bottom line doesn't change??? No matter how hard he works or how long he is gone. Good workers should be paid as such, salary makes the slackers life that much easier.

 

there is only one way to do a job
to the best of your ability everyday
you think you should be paid more go find that job
guys want to be paid hub miles then drive extra miles to pad checks
companies are not stupid they know if your paid salary most lazy american workers will screw off

 

Salary seems like a bad decision from a owners side - paying the worker for all those things that you could legally not pay him for (detention...sitting in traffic..etc)

As a driver I'd love it.

 

You effectively just summed up why carriers are reluctant to pay drivers hourly, since they could stop, slow down, take breaks and still get paid instead of production pay.

But when carrier day that, we drivers sayt "No, no we wouldn't do that! We might even work harder if you paid us by the hour!"

I don't want a salary or an hourly wage because I know how many drivers feel exactly like you, and you just proved it.

 

Salary is great with a set run, but if it isn't a set/dedicated run, no way. The house will always win.
