The dog is jumping up into something that she can't see in. She's climbing or jumping into the blind. So, she doesn't know if she can fit, it's too tight, what's waiting in there, etc. Same thing with loading horses into a trailer. Sometimes they think it's too small, too tight, etc. In time she may become trusting enough to make the leap or climb in. Same thing goes with the jump down, not sure how far the jump is. I'm sure that Mark can build her trust and confidence so she won't have any issues doing it. After all, it is Scooter that we're talking about... LOL:biggrin_25525:

For fear of reprisal, I have no comment.... hehehehehehe I don't think it is the "truck" thing. Everytime she goes out there, she walks over to the door, and then looks over her shoulder at me. But she has weak hind legs (think it is a hip thing). But if you could see the look on her face. This coming from a dog that can smile on command.

Good point. Hopefully I'll be home in a few days and can figure something out. But jumping down would not be an option. Roughly 4 foot drop and at 90 lbs, something will get broken. <sigh> The things we do for dogs hehehehehe

True. Before it is all over, I can see it now. A mechanical device designed to get her in and out just so she can co-drive. Sheesh!

Some sort of folding platform halfway up comes to mind. I do know that the first time you take a dog out in a car, you shouldn't take them to the vet; go to the park. That way they relate the car to fun, rather than pain or whatnot.

    luvtheroad Thanks this.

Well Sasha has really taken to the truck. Today, she got real excited getting back to the truck after a walk (it was real windy and cold in Memphis) and she jumped right up on the steps -- before I had opened the door. So there she stood with her front paws on the upper step and back paws on the lower .. her face against the door ... looking at me like 'what's up here?' ... and she just held that position. She looked like a rock climber about to make some wicked move .. too funny!! :)

Sure breaks the boredom having her along ..

She's either telling you it's COLD out here, or you're a DUMMY!
Hey, forgot to call you; hang on a bit, I'm covered up with work right now.

Yeah I was thinking about making a folding apparatus with a piano hinge, covered in indoor outdoor carpeting that I could secure to the headache rack. Still in design stages

    Yes.... reprisal! hehehehehe

That is just too cool buddy.... I can't tell you how envious I am.... <I miss mah dawg>
