Yeah..... forget about driving a truck.... forever. You are an admitted felon. You just haven't been caught yet. I would prefer my family not be in the car next to you.

    Thankskby

i've known a few potheads, they allways end up back smoking, pot/drugs and driving and big truck does not mix, getting a dirty test is cause for the suspention/revoking of a CDL. but thats the last on the list for reasoning, death of others and even yourself is on the top if the list, if you've been a pothead that many of years, IMO. find a different job

You need to quit long enough that if you do a hair test you don't have an issue. Then you should think about school. Before that time is pointless. If you do go to school, get your CDL then go to get employment and they want a hair test your #### out of luck. Plus as your sitting waiting for the time to go by that your able to take the test if you have your CDL and not driving no one will want to hire you after you've waited that long between school and driving.

Take the others advice on here who aren't saying don't do it if your strong enough to stop then do it but be #### sure you can pass ANY test they give before you go to school.

P.S. I kind of have to agree with some of the ones saying don't do it, for some reason I get the feeling like you'll end up smoking in the future and find out this was not the right choice for you.

Being a Class A driver, you have to be ready to fill a cup at a moment's notice. There are no warnings. You could be pulling into a terminal to drop and hook, and get a QC that safety needs to see you ASAP (seen it happen.... to ME). Go to see them, someone drives you and maybe a few other drivers to the testing location, and you have to let fly.

Failure to do so would be considered refusal to take the test. You'll never drive a truck again.

I can just about guarantee you that it will be a surprise every time you get that "random" test. Not having to worry about what the result will be is gold. Only thing you'd have to complain about is the PITA it was to take time out of your day for it.

You came to the wrong forum for advice.

All I can say is if you are truly serious about this profession. Put off the drugs and any contact with them for many months before you even start.

I know people who smoked before and turned a new leaf. I use to smoke myself and decided that I would prefer to live a life without it. I have found that I enjoy life even more without the drug and I enjoy having the control of my own body.

Trucking is a stressful job, so if you are out there and you're pissed at your dispatcher, mad about a load wait time, or just annoyed by being cut off by 4-wheelers over and over. Those times will come where you will drift back to a previous thing that took stress away. If you feel you can combat that and say no to drugs. Then good luck with your career.

But there is no place in this industry for people who do drugs. And the industry holds zero tolerance for it, one negative and you'll never truck again.

Good luck. If you feel you can't do it, either wait till you grow up or find another profession.

LMAO, I'm a Corrections Officer at the County Jail. Some of the people I've worked with used to be on the other side of these same bars!

Being in Law Enforcement and having to know a lot of stuff about drugs, If you've been smoking for as long as you say, and as much as 3-4 times a day, your going to have trouble. For long term users your going to have to stay clean at least 3-5 months before your urine will test completely clean. I've seen guys in the jail try to pass tests for probation officers after sitting in jail for a month and they may be drug free, but their urine is still showing traces of THC thats been absorbed by their liver, fat cells, and kidneys and is now being slowly introduced into their bladder. So just be smart about your future decisions. Your probably going to waste tons fo money on a trucking school and then fail a test for the company you want to work for. Or you may do so good that you think you can get by the tests, so you begin using again.

    Wow. just......wow
