I considered that idea, Aussi. Then it dawned on me that even the janitor at the local news paper would be a member of the spelling and grammatical error police. No thanks, I'm married to one of those, I'll deal with the DOT instead.:biggrin_25523:

I'm looking at Central Refrigerated myself. However, when I talked with the recruiter (which admittedly was a while ago) I was told that I could only go thru their school to get my CDL.

He said that since I was a newby, it would be a waste of money for me to go to another school, even a good one, to get my CDL.

I don't know if this is still true or not, but I thought I would mention it in case it is.

    Good luck to you

Uh-huh. Wonder how much more money the recruiter gets for getting you into their school. I just wonder what that same recruiter would say to someone who inquired about working there, that had just completed a school. . .

Just a thought. Hell, might be worth a phone call.

Semiret, I would strongly recommend Central. My wife and I drove for them and they were a very good company. Being you live in Salt Lake why don't you go down and personally talk to a recruiter. I think you will be very impressed there.

Fisher, good advice! I like your W9. I owned one and absolutely loved it! Best #### truck I ever had!

What bs.....exactlywhat I'd expect to hear from a recruiter and sounds just like the used car salesmen they are

Take it from me, you're far better off finding a good school if you can afford it and will get a better job and have more options available to you if you do. A GOOD school. Do your homework first. There are far too many who will take several thousands of your dollars and teach you absolutely nothing. The good ones have to be researched and sought out.

I did it.......and much better off for it. And so can you.

    Best of luck

Well first off, the 370's were in pre egr trucks, and maybe a few daycabs and such.

    2. 60 on cruise. Up to 65 on pedal, but it is recorded against bonus. 60mph keeps everybody away from you. Not that bad unless you are out west.

    3. You can idle withn their limits and get credits for extremes. If you idle freely, you don't get bonus. Not that big of a deal. At least they don't have the shut off like some companies.

    4. Yes, no APU's sucks, but many do not have them.

    5. Their Freightliners are ST's, so not too crappy.

    6. Now, how old was the trailer in your post that was dropped with a bad airline/glad hand??? They are picking up new trailers every day.

    7. E-Logs, not even going to start this argument again.

    8. Who said no inverters?

    9. No slip seating in most circumstances, even if they say they do.

    10. Hometime is hit or miss with most companies, I never had a problem.

    11. Low miles-I will give you that one, but again, what mega dosen't

    12. low pay...nope, pretty good and better than others.

    13. Yea, one should choose their employment based on colors.

    14. Tanker isn;t always great, do some reading.

    15. Sitting, again, mega carrier+crappy economy=????????

Sorry AT, I agree with some things you say, but here you have no experience to back most of this up, all hear say. Everyone is glad that you are happy at Watkins, but give it a rest on everything else around you man.
