Considering the shortage of willing drivers you should just apply to a livestock hauler and let them know you have experience with livestock. I know up here they have seriously lowered the bar as far as livestock haulers considering how many of them hit the ditch around here.
Bullhaulers attire now is flip flops and a thong.:D

First thought I had, as well.

Not in training, but in detailing the in's-out's.

That's something I've wanted to get into from time to time, but around here you've got to have the right last name, or know someone, who knows someone. Good luck in your search OP.

Your ahead of the game with livestock experience. That's what most look for. The driving part is easy though that's where most get in a bind.

The only way to move cattle fast is slowly. I don't care what any one says about not stopping your tired get a nap. Ain't no pep in your step replacement for a quick pause for the cause.
If your gonna do it do it right for the right reasons.

Look on livestock network and hit a few up. There are some crooks but they can put you onto position to meet a good company. Hang out at the same barn on sale day, one that has several pots a sale. Don't chat the driver up watch, and learn. Then when you see something that needs doing do it without saying a word. Then express interest.

I will be honest so many have a fascination because they want to look cool or they are a make believe cowboy etc. Yet they have no clue what a bull haulers job really is

Thanks for the people that have a real answer. Didn’t mean to butt hurt people about me changing careers didn’t know so many people cared how I make my living . Maybe I’ll stick to the local flatbed work I know.

That helps me alot as well. I've been thinking about it, but lack enough experience. What would be a good amount of experience?
